Reidwaan Wookay

Reidwaan Wookay is a financial services executive with over 20 years of experience in banking, development finance, risk management, and corporate governance. As Principal: Risk and Governance Management at the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA), he advises the Chief Risk Officer and executive committees on credit risk, ESG integration, and enterprise resilience.

He leads efforts to align the Bank’s governance and risk frameworks with sustainable development priorities, embedding ESG principles and strengthening its credit risk appetite. Reidwaan also chairs the DBSA Provident Fund Board of Trustees and serves on the National Treasury’s Sustainable Finance Initiatives Steering Committee, helping to integrate sustainability into South Africa’s financial sector.

Previously, he was an Independent Non-Executive Director at African Men for Sexual Health and Rights (AMSHeR), where he chaired the Audit, Risk and Finance Committee. Currently an Executive DBA candidate at École des Ponts Business School in Paris, his research focuses on ESG-driven credit risk modelling and sustainable finance innovation.

Shelly-Ann Skinner

Shelly-Ann Skinner is the visionary Founder and President of UPlift Black, an organization they launched during the 2020 Black Lives Matter movement in Canada. Leveraging their expertise in business coaching and organizational development, Shelly-Ann has dedicated their life to fostering community growth and supporting marginalized voices.

As an entrepreneur and artist, they actively participated in numerous community initiatives, earning accolades for their contributions to business and community building. In 2020, they was honored with the ‘Woman of the Year – Heart and Soul’ award at the Barrie Chamber of Commerce’s Women In Business awards. Most recently, in 2023, they received Barrie Today’s Community Builders Award for Economic Development.

Recognized for their commitment to creating opportunities for often overlooked communities, Shelly-Ann has made significant strides in promoting economic development. In 2023, UPlift Black opened the region’s first Creative Studio for Black artists, creatives, and entrepreneurs. The “UPlift Black Centre for Social Justice and Inclusion” features the UP BeatBox Studio, a sanctuary that includes a recording studio, maker space, wellness area, event venue, and art gallery. Through these initiatives, Shelly-Ann continues to champion a safe and inclusive environment for creative expression and community engagement.

Ying Sia

Born in Singapore and raised in Malaysia and Australia, Ying brings a truly global perspective shaped by a life and career spanning continents and cultures. A trained lawyer with nearly two decades of international legal and advisory experience, she has lived and worked in Australia, Singapore, the United States, and now Canada—developing a strong ability to navigate complex legal, cultural, and organizational landscapes with empathy and adaptability.

Ying’s career spans private practice and in-house counsel roles, advising on cross-border transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance. Her work bridging legal systems and cultural expectations has deepened her belief in inclusive, transparent, and accountable leadership.

Now serving as in-house counsel at Blue Ant Media, an independent Canadian broadcaster, distributor, and production company with a global presence, Ying specializes in Entertainment and Media Law and has contributed to the organization’s international growth for nearly a decade.

Fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, Ying values communication as the foundation of collaboration and community building. She brings to our Board both legal expertise and a deep appreciation for diversity, helping nonprofits like ours strengthen governance, deepen impact, and serve communities with integrity and purpose.

A law graduate pivoting into hospitality, he blends advocacy, service excellence, and creative problem-solving to advance inclusive entrepreneurship. His interests in culinary arts, hosting, gardening, travel, and languages inform a people-first approach to mentorship and community building.

Brumency champions curiosity and continuous improvement—connecting people and ideas to create opportunity.

Karen Four is the Executive Director and Founder of OUT4BIZ Network Association, a federally incorporated nonprofit dedicated to empowering LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs and professionals through mentorship, digital skills, and inclusive networking opportunities. She is also the Executive Director of Digital Insites, a social impact consultancy that helps nonprofits achieve their mission through AI technology, analytics, and automation

A seasoned communications and AI analytics leader, Karen brings over 30 years of international experience across the engineering, banking, healthcare, and government sectors in South Africa, Switzerland, Norway, the USA, and Canada.

A passionate community builder, Karen is also the organizer of three LGBTQ+ Meetup groups connecting more than 4,000 members, fostering belonging and professional growth through events and peer networks. She combines her expertise in digital innovation, analytics, and storytelling to create programs that strengthen economic resilience and community connection across generations.
